Making Connections

This past week we spent a lot of time discussing connections. We talked about how good readers think while they read and how it helps people understand what they are reading. Ask your child about schema. You can also ask them how your brain is like a file cabinet.
We read books, poems and used music to help us make connections. Here are some pictures of the students using our connection anchor chart to categorize their connections.




















This week was the first week we could check out books in the library. For the first few weeks library books will be left at school. We go to the library on Thursdays.




Our wonderful student teacher, Ms. Goetz has begun teaching our shared reading lessons. She is doing such a great job!
